Nova Southeastern University and HCA East Florida’s joint plan to build a 100-bed hospital on the former organization’s Davie campus in Broward County has been denied.
The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration rejected the application today, but did not provide a reason. North Broward Hospital District and Broward Health have argued that the facility is unnecessary. The developers however do not plan to give up on the plan.
“We are disappointed to receive an initial rejection… However, we will continue our pursuit and believe we will eventually succeed in building this research hospital,” a spokesperson for HCA East Florida said, as reported by the South Florida Business Journal. [SFBJ] — Mark Maurer
