West Palm Beach commissioners have approved the redevelopment of a golf course site near the Lands of the President.
The commission voted in favor of a planned mixed-use community at the President Country Club along Congress Avenue, the Palm Beach Post reported. If completed, the project would be the city’s largest redevelopment since CityPlace.
Plans call for the club’s north golf course to be converted into a 119-acre commercial district with a 250-room hotel, 23 resort rental villas, 94 single-family residences and a 15,000-square-foot spa. The hotel component would include meeting and banquet space, swimming pools, tennis courts and day care facilities.
