Metropolitan by COMO to open later this month

The 74-room Metropolitan by COMO at 2445 Collins Avenue in the South Beach Art Deco District is set to open January 27.

The Singapore-based COMO Hotels and Resorts company had been planning to open the resort last month. Designer Paola Navone has released new renderings for the space.

It will feature a 20-meter private pool, juice bar, spa and free daily yoga and Pilates classes. There will also be two restaurants, one of which is the seafood-centric Traymore. Nightly rates will start at $500 a night in high season and $350 a night in low season.

Delaware-registered COMO Traymore bought the site for $17.5 million in January 2012, when it was the closed 1930s Traymore Hotel. [Curbed] — Mark Maurer
