Coral Gables-based Codina and Miami-based Lennar want to acquire the 100-acre White Course site from a fund tied to the Singapore government, South Florida Business Journal reported. The golf course is zoned for a mixed-use development similar to nearby Downtown Doral. A Codina and Lennar venture are currently building Downtown Doral, a 2,840-unit project with 1 million square feet of office space and 200,000 square feet of retail.

Codina CEO Ana-Marie Codina Barlick said the companies intend to meet with Singapore representatives this week to potentially make an offer on the White Course. The current owner acquired the site through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case that included numerous properties, including the former Doral Golf Resort and Spa. Celebrity developer Donald Trump purchased that site and has since reopened it as Trump National Doral Miami. [South Florida Business Journal] Eric Kalis
