Construction of West Miami apartments begins

Construction of a $35 million apartment complex in West Miami is underway.

The Estate Cos. and Mattoni Group hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for their Gables Gate Tower development last week, South Florida Business Journal reported. Plans call for 206 apartments in two low-rise buildings. Units would range in size from 750 to 1,250 square feet.

Gables Gate Tower is being constructed on 2.1 acres on Southwest 67th Avenue between Southwest 21st and 22nd streets. Planned amenities include a pool, gym and club room.
