Riviera Beach is auctioning off more than 50 properties to raise money for the city’s general budget.
The auction of the sites, which include abandoned single-family residences and vacant parcels, is scheduled for Jan. 25, the Palm Beach Post reported. Riviera Beach assembled the properties through foreclosures, donations and a former community redevelopment program. Overall, the properties have an assessed value of about $584,000.
Fisher Auction of Pompano Beach is running the sale. Company president Lamar Fisher said holding an auction allows neighbors to have the opportunity to purchase adjacent properties instead of selling the entire assemblage to one investor.
