More Miami-Dade County residents are moving to Broward County than any other county-to-county migration in Florida.
About 25,000 Miami-Dade residents relocated to Broward in 2011, the Associated Press reported, citing the latest U.S. Census Bureau figures released Thursday. That represented the sixth-largest county-to-county migration flow in the nation. Only Los Angeles and its surrounding counties had higher migration flows.
The net migration to Broward was only 13,000, as more than 11,000 Broward residents moved south to Miami-Dade.
Other significant migrations included Caribbean residents moving to Miami-Dade County and Hillsborough County residents moving to Pasco County in the Tampa area. [AP] — Eric Kalis
