A Miami-Dade commissioner was unsuccessful in his attempt to delay the Airport City mixed-use development proposed for Miami International Airport’s entrance.
Commissioner Esteban Bovo’s proposal to stall an agreement between the county and contractor Odebrecht USA did not move forward after a deadlocked vote on Wednesday, the Miami Herald reported. The county and Odebrecht can continue negotiating a deal for a scaled-down version of the development, which has been proposed for nearly six years. A competing proposal to require an agreement to be brought to commissioners within three months was delayed until the next meeting.
