Construction of a shared Miramar campus for Broward College and Florida International University is set to begin today.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for this morning at the 1930 Southwest 145th Avenue site, South Florida Business Journal reported. FIU president Mark Rosenberg and Broward College president J. David Armstrong are expected to attend. Kaufman Lynn Construction is building the four-story, 89,000-square-foot facility.
Perkins + Will designed the building, which is slated to open this fall. Broward College’s business, supply chain management and global trade/logistics programs are set to relocate there, while FIU plans to move its undergraduate programs in liberal arts, business and construction management and graduate programs in business, engineering, education and public administration to the facility.
