Construction of the $50 million Wynwood Central mixed-use development is underway.
The eight-story, 385,000-square-foot building is on track for a mid-2015 completion, according to Thursday’s written announcement from a project spokesperson. Wynwood Central’s plans include 69 residences, 40,000 square feet of retail space and 50,000 square feet of mixed-use space that could be used for showrooms or creative offices. Developers Shawn Chemtov and Marc Kovens hope to attract arts, technology and design tenants eager to relocate to the burgeoning Wynwood area.
“We recognized that Wynwood needed a pedestrian-friendly, connecting point that offered additional services and amenities,” said project spokesperson Lyle Chariff.
Bloom Miami and DNB Design Group designed the project, which is located between Northwest 24th and 25th streets and Second Avenue. — Eric Kalis
