As March Madness begins, one of the stars of the University of Michigan’s popular “Fab Five” squad has an extra $2.4 million to put in his pocket from a Brickell Key condo sale, The Real Deal has learned.

Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard and his wife Jenine sold the Three Tequesta Point penthouse to Miami-based Brickell Key PH 4603 Corp., according to Miami-Dade County records. The county recorded the transaction Wednesday. State corporate records identify Wilmar Neinow as president and director of the buying company, which received a $1.4 million loan from Sabadell United Bank for the purchase.

The Howards did not really need the three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo anymore. They acquired a Coral Gables home for $3.4 million in December. The couple spent about $1.6 million on the 3,506-square-foot Three Tequesta unit in May 2003.

Howard was one of the stars of the Michigan team that made consecutive national championship game appearances during the early 90s. He also won two National Basketball Association titles with the Heat.
