It’s apparently a busy week for sales of Miami Beach properties with connections to jailed businessmen.
The Star Island home previously owned by Claudio Osorio was sold for $17.6 million last Friday, according to Miami-Dade County records. Seller 15 Star, which is managed by Alfonso Rey, acquired the 15 Star Island Drive residence for about $12.8 million in 2011 as part of Osorio’s bankruptcy case. Osorio is currently serving a 12.5-year prison sentence for fraud.
Miami-Dade County recorded the transaction Monday.
Star Fifteen is the buyer of the nine-bedroom, 9,000-square-foot home. The company is managed by Frayda Lindemann, the wife of communications and natural gas mogul George Lindemann. Credit Suisse Lending provided Lindemann’s company with a $10 million mortgage.
The sale surpassed the $17 million asking price for 15 Star Island when the property was listed in July 2012. — Eric Kalis
