The first in a series of public workshops on Palm Beach Gardens’ largest proposed development will be held tonight.
City residents have the chance to discuss the 7,600-home Avenir project with the Coral Gables-based developer during tonight’s workshop. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. inside the Doubletree Hotel at 4431 PGA Boulevard. It is the first of three workshops planned over the next two months.
Avenir Holdings wants to build the 7,600 residences on the 4,760-acre former Vavrus Ranch over a 20-year span. Current zoning only allows 406 homes on the land. The proposed development would also include 1 million square feet of office space, 200,000 square feet of medical-office space, 500,000 square feet of retail, a hotel, 200-acre Keiser University campus and golf course.
