Multifamily developer ZOM revealed its plans for two rental projects in the Brickell area and downtown Miami.
Orlando-based ZOM released a pair of written statements detailing the company’s unnamed Brickell high-rise and Montage at Met 3 tower on Monday. ZOM closed on the $16.8 million purchase of the 80 Southwest Eighth Street property, which is located near Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village, last month. It formed a joint venture with AIG Global Real Estate to build a 46-story, 420-unit rental tower on the parcel.
Construction of the Brickell tower is expected to begin before the end of 2014.
ZOM already began building Montage at Met 3, a 32-story, 462-unit tower atop a Whole Foods store and parking garage. The company acquired the air rights for the project in a $23 million transaction last month. It is partnering with an investor account advised by UBS Global Asset Management’s U.S. real estate arm on the tower. — Eric Kalis
