The Testa family of Palm Beach wants to raze their historic restaurant and Via Testa retail building on Royal Poinciana Way.

An application to demolish the buildings was filed with the town on Tuesday, Palm Beach Daily News reported. The Testas’ ownership company, T3 Family Investments, made the request. The town’s Architectural Commission is expected to consider the application during its May 28 meeting.

Palm Beach planning, zoning and building director John Page said the application did not include information on any redevelopment plans.

None of the buildings referenced in the application are landmarked. The Architectural Commission is required by law to approve qualified demolition requests unless a building is protected by the town’s landmark ordinance. [Palm Beach Daily News]Eric Kalis
