Biscayne Bank plans to relocate to a new headquarters in Coconut Grove that would have more than double the square footage of its current offices.

Bank chairman Thomas Lumpkin told South Florida Business Journal the new headquarters at 2601 South Bayshore Drive would total 11,000 square feet. The bank is currently based in a 4,500-square-foot facility at 3121 Commodore Plaza.

The new headquarters would include a retail branch and international banking on the first two floors, with executive offices on the sixth floor. Biscayne Bank would also get naming rights at the building.

Lumpkin cited a desire to be closer to the new developments on Bayshore Drive, including a residential tower planned by the Related Group and Terra Group. The bank might choose to keep the Commodore Plaza branch after the move. [South Florida Business Journal]Eric Kalis
