A new residential development, dubbed Gibson Plaza, is set to break ground in West Grove on April 28 and is scheduled for completion in mid-2015.

The 56-unit project, which is located on Grand Avenue, is being developed by a partnership between Pinnacle Housing Group, the Collaborative Development Corporation, the Theodore Roosevelt Gibson Memorial Fund, Miami Dade College and the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Foundation, according to GlobeSt.

“It has always been a dream of ours to have affordable housing, continuing education and after school programs for children running side-by-side,” Thelma Gibson, the founder of the Theodore Roosevelt Gibson Memorial Fund, which owns the land on which Gibson Plaza is being built, said. “Gibson Plaza will bring us one step closer to realizing our long-held vision of improving the West Grove neighborhood.”

The ground floor of the building will feature educational spaces that will be used for job and technology training for area residents. [GlobeSt]Christopher Cameron
