Large crowds are expected to descend on Palm Beach County’s Governmental Complex for Monday morning’s public hearing on the proposed Minto West development in the Acreage neighborhood.
County commissioners are slated to vote on whether to launch an in-depth review of the 6,500-home development planned for the former Callery-Judge Grove site. The vote is part of a public hearing on the county’s comprehensive plan, according to the Palm Beach Post. Minto wants the county to modify its growth rules by allowing the 6,500 homes on land where only about 3,000 residences are currently allowed.
More than 200 people attended an April 11 Planning Commission hearing on the same issue. The commission voted 11-0 against starting the review.
Minto was accused last week of paying people to act as project supporters during that hearing. [Palm Beach Post] — Eric Kalis
