Barneys New York is interested in possibly adding a store to the Bal Harbour Shops, according to Marc Perlowitz, an executive at the luxury clothing chain.
“We asked the council [for] an expeditious take on the plan,” Perlowitz said at a recent workshop at the Sea View Hotel. “That will certainly assist us in our final determination.”
Currently, the Bal Harbour Shops is planning a 350,000-square-foot expansion that will add at least 20 specialty retail boutiques, a luxury theater and a multi-purpose community plaza, according to the Miami Herald. If approved, the $300 million expansion would be completed as early as 2018. [Miami Herald] – Christopher Cameron
