Former sporting goods mogul David Gochman plunked down $15.4 million for an oceanfront home in Palm Beach, The Real Deal has learned.

Gochman and his wife Becky acquired the 200 South Ocean Boulevard residence on May 8, according to Palm Beach County records. The county recorded the transaction on Wednesday. No financing was recorded.

The sellers are Robert Reveley and his wife Julie Heberlein.

Built in 1925, the seven-bedroom home was designed by architect Marion Sims Wyeth. It totals more than 7,000 square feet and includes seven full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms. The nearly two-acre property includes a heated pool, spa and guest house.

Broker Christian Angle was the listing agent. The Gochmans were represented by Jack Elkins and Bunny Hiatt of Fite Shavell & Associates.

David Gochman was chairman and CEO of Texas-based sporting goods chain Academy Sports + Outdoors. He sold the company to private equity firm KKR in 2011.

Gochman’s wife and daughters are avid equestrian riders who frequently compete in nearby Wellington.
