Healthcare Trust of America purchased three medical office buildings in Miami and Kendall, totaling 113,000 square feet.
The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based REIT paid $200 million for the Miami and Kendall properties, along with two buildings in Boston and one in Baltimore. The individual cost of each building was not revealed and the deal has not yet been recorded in county records, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
“These assets are located in attractive, high barrier to entry markets on the east coast that feature above average income levels and health insurance coverage,” HTA Chairman and CEO Scott Peters said in a news release. “They are well positioned to grow in value over the long term and enable us to expand our asset management and leasing platform in these key markets.”
