Malcolm Glazer’s son sells Palm Beach house
The son of late billionaire businessman Malcolm Glazer got nearly $13 million for a landmarked home in the Estate Section of Palm Beach.
Avram “Avie” Glazer and his wife Jill sold the 5 Middle Road house to Mary Jordan and Thomas A. Saunders III of New York. Saunders is a philanthropist, investment banker and chairman of Washington, D.C. think tank the Heritage Foundation. The Glazers spent $7.4 million on the four-bedroom, Colonial Revival-style home in 2004 and later completed major renovations.
Prominent architect Marion Sims Wyeth designed the house in 1935, according to the Palm Beach Daily News. It was originally listed for sale with a $15 million asking price. Lawrence Moens was the listing agent, while Cristina Condon of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyers.
Malcolm Glazer, who held a controlling ownership stake in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and England’s Manchester United, died in May. The Glazer family actively buys and sells property throughout the island. [Palm Beach Daily News] — Eric Kalis
