After years of holding out for a savior, the Little Farm Trailer Park in El Portal appears to be on the verge of finding one.

Goldstein Brownfields Group agreed to purchase the 15-acre tract on Biscayne Boulevard and plans to revive it through major redevelopment.

This would relieve the owner, Biscayne Park Acquisition Group, from a financial burden resulting from multiple fines and liens, according to the Miami Herald.

“We are very experienced with sites that have environmental challenges like this site has,” attorney Michael Goldstein told the Herald. “We think it’s an important site to the community because it has great potential to have a new and better sustainable housing on a mixed-use, mixed-income basis. We look forward to creating a retail component, which will create more jobs for the community, more shopping and entertaining options for the community.”

There are approximately 145 trailers on the property and the value is listed at $574,684, according to the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser. Some of the liens go as far back as 2006 and total $8.2 million. [Miami Herald]Andy Kent
