Miami-Dade commissioners are expected to determine the fate of two multifamily developments during their next meeting on Tuesday.

One of the two builders vying for the commission’s approval is Hialeah-based Miami Gardens Park, which is managed by Richard Rafuls. The company wants to develop the 178-unit Gardens Park apartment complex on 10.8 acres at the corner of Northwest 183rd Street and 59th Avenue. The project would also include about 29,000 square feet of retail space.

In southern Miami-Dade’s Naranja, Tower Road Gardens seeks permission to construct the 150-unit La Joya Apartments, according to the South Florida Business Journal. Lewis Swezy of Miami Lakes leads Tower Road. The project is planned for 5.4 acres at Southwest 139th Avenue and 268th Street.

Tower Road already has a $6 million mortgage from the Housing Finance Authority of Miami-Dade County. [SFBJ]Eric Kalis
