A 20-story tower with more than 60 residential units could be coming to Miami Beach’s Terminal Island.

If all goes according to plan, the proposed development will be presented to the city commission in October. The proposal calls for various amenities, parking and a deep-water large-yacht marina.

Before the project can begin, however, a development agreement is needed between Miami Beach Port LLC and the city. Part of the property will have to be rezoned for use.

The proposed development could reduce traffic along the MacArthur Causeway, due to the reduction in port operations there. Some also say it would create a more aesthetically pleasing gateway to Miami Beach. [Miami Today] — Claire Moses
