A large development site in North Miami Beach changed hands for $17 million.
Tampa-based Antigua at NMB Development sold 18 acres at 15780 West Dixie Highway in a transaction recorded on Thursday, according to Miami-Dade County records. The company intended to build a mixed-use project with residences on the site. Ariel Rodriguez signed the deed as the managing member of Antigua.
The land was previously used by a gas distributor and is designated as a brownfield site. The state requires significant environmental remediation of such properties before redevelopment can begin. In April 2013, Antigua filed a commencement notice with the county indicating the start of remediation work.
Moore 77 LLC is the buyer. The company is registered in Delaware, which does not identify company principals in its corporate records. No financing was recorded. — Eric Kalis
