From the South Florida website: A decade into its Miami expansion, New York real estate giant Douglas Elliman is aggressively adding to its agent roster and ramping up its preconstruction luxury condo sales activity in the area.
The brokerage has hired about 300 new South Florida brokers in the past year to increase the firm’s broker pool in the region to 430. It now has eight offices in the tri-county area. The firm’s national network reached 5,000 brokers in July.
The preconstruction arm of Douglas Elliman is picking up some new high-end assignments, including Faena House in Miami Beach and Terra Group and the Related Group’s Park Grove in Coconut Grove, according to the Miami Herald. To broaden its international sales reach, the firm is strengthening its partnership with London-based Knight Frank.
Douglas Elliman acquired Jeff Morr’s Miami Beach-based Majestic Properties in June.
Jay Phillip Parker, Douglas Elliman Florida’s CEO, told the newspaper his priority is to grow a team of top producing agents who work together to build relationships with clients. Toward that end, Parker brought in Coldwell Banker veteran Tom Bryan to join the firm as managing broker in Miami.
“The barriers to entry to become an agent are very low,” Parker said. “To become successful, you need training, direction. You need to be able to leverage the experience of others.” [Miami Herald] — Eric Kalis
