Plans to redevelop the site of Panama Hattie’s in North Palm Beach into a complex of condos, hotel and offices have been scaled back and resubmitted to Palm Beach Gardens.
The plans originally called for a 160-room hotel and 150 condos and now features 146 hotel rooms and a condo building with 78 one- and two-bedroom units, according to the Palm Beach Post. Both buildings have also been reduced to eight stories from 10.
Locals had criticized the project for its potential to lock up traffic near the PGA Boulevard drawbridge and Ellison Wilson Road.
“We’re going to improve the traffic situation, not make it worse,” Nick Mastroianni II, head of developer PGA Partners LLC, told the Palm Beach Post. [Palm Beach Post] – Christopher Cameron
