The Friends organization will now hire specialists to study and restore the waterfront stadium’s concrete exterior. The consultants will also look at ways to conserve some of the best examples of the graffiti that cover the long-closed building.

Other recipients of Getty Foundation grant include the Sydney Opera House, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House in Chicago, designer couple Charles and Ray Eames’ landmark house in California, and architect Le Corbusier’s apartment and studio in Paris. [Miami Herald]Christopher Cameron
