After nearly three years of renovations, the historic Shelborne on South Beach reopens today.
The $90 million project transformed almost every part of the 200-room property, now called the Shelborne Wyndham Grand, according to the Miami Herald.
Upgrades include a new high-profile restaurant, Morimoto South Beach, and completely overhauled guest rooms. The building, located at 1801 Collins Avenue, now features an apothecary-themed “drawing room” where the lobby once stood.
“I think that people are going to see that this is a night and day transformation of the property,” said Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, president of Flag Luxury Group, one of the owners of the hotel. [Miami Herald] – Christopher Cameron
