The Palm Beach Town Council rejected Palm House’s request for zoning changes that would have allowed for multiple design changes.
Council members said the hotel’s parking plan fell far short of the number of spaces needed to accommodate the hotel’s 70 guest rooms and 300 restaurant and lounge seats, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.
The council also disliked plans for a rooftop lounge that members said would generate too much noise.
“You are given a blueprint of approvals from the Town Council,” Mayor Gail Coniglio told Palm House representatives. “You need to live within that. Frankly, [the failure to do so] has happened more than once here.” [Palm Beach Daily News] – Christopher Cameron
