A company tied to Chateau Group’s Grosskopf family made a substantial profit on the $57.5 million sale of the former Florida Power & Light call center in western Miami-Dade County, The Real Deal has learned.
Orot Flagler LLC, a Hallandale company managed by Manuel Grosskopf, sold the 635,000-square-foot office building and a 6-acre parking lot at 9250 West Flagler Street in a transaction recorded on Wednesday, according to Miami-Dade County records. The company paid $37 million for the properties in April 2011. The building was originally constructed in 1974.
Hoffman Flagler LLC of Miami is the buyer. The company received a $53.63 million loan from New York-based Fortress Investment Group. The mortgage matures in November 2017.
Juno Beach-based FPL previously owned and occupied the six-story building as its corporate headquarters.
