The saga of the Palm House hotel condominium took another strange twist this week that left the front doors chained and padlocked and the former manager sued by the majority owner.
According to an article in the Palm Beach Daily News, a civil complaint in an ownership dispute was filed in circuit court Tuesday against Ryan A. Black, described as a 1 percent minority owner and former manager of Palm House LLC. That entity owns the property at 160 Royal Palm Way. The property has been under renovation for eight years.
The complaint alleges that Black removed valuable computer files related to the hotel and padlocked the door. It also claims that earlier this month Black went to Connecticut and spoke with the single majority owner, Gerry Matthews, to “compel” him to turn over his 99 percent interest or face consequences.
The complaint is seeking to keep Black off the premises and return hotel property. [Palm Beach Daily News]
