Attention landlords: Single-family rental homes in the Village of Wellington will soon need licenses.
An ordinance to require licenses for all rental homes in the village, similar to an existing requirement for multifamily homes there, advanced with a council vote of 4 to 1 on Tuesday, according to the Palm Beach Post. The council is looking to change the fees associated with the ordinance and would replace the current $75 license fee and $25 inspection fee with a $50 fee for a rental property inspection.
The program is designed to make sure single-family homes comply with village codes. The ordinance will come back to the council for final approval next month. [Palm Beach Post] – Jennifer White Karp
