Some real estate agents in Fort Lauderdale think their ship has come in, or more accurately, their yacht.
That’s because Fort Lauderdale is hosting the International Boat Show this weekend. Featuring nearly 200 mega yachts, the show is billed as one of the world’s largest and is known for attracting billionaire browsers. Agents interviewed by the Daily Business Review said it represents an ideal cross-marketing opportunity.
“Anyone who comes to the boat show, who is a real buyer, is going to be driving around looking at houses. That’s the bottom line. This way we capture them then,” Coldwell Banker’s Tim Elmes told the publication. He is staging a $9 million mansion for sale in Rio Vista.
Last year’s show helped another Coldwell Banker broker score one of the highest closings in Broward County — the $5.45 million sale of a 9,226 square-foot waterfront estate, the article said. [Daily Business Review] – Jennifer White Karp
