Your packages could arrive faster when Amazon.com opens its new distribution and fulfillment center in Doral.
The retail giant has signed a lease for a 335,841-square-foot facility located in the Miami International Distribution Center at 1900 Northwest 132nd Place, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The building was constructed last year by KTR Miami. The new distribution center will help with customer demand for same-day delivery and could create up to 500 jobs.
But Amazon has more plans for South Florida beyond the distribution center.
“[T]hey’re also opening up a brick-and-mortar store,” said Ken Krasnow, managing director at CBRE South Florida.
