Miami-Dade County commissioners will take over creating a special zoning district for the Ludlam Trail development issue.
Dozens of neighbors reportedly argued against the proposed development, saying that adding buildings to the trail would increase traffic to streets that are already congested along with to reducing the greenway to a sidewalk.
The commissioners’ decision gives them more time to decide what to do with the 6.2-mile long trail, which covers 72 acres and is between 78 and 100 feet wide, according to the Miami Herald. The developer, Flagler, proposed a mixed-use project that would concentrate development at Blue Lagoon, Bird Road and Kendall Drive. [Miami Herald] – Katherine Kallergis
