Funding for SkyRise Miami was approved at Tuesday’s Miami-Dade County commission meeting.

The county reportedly approved the $9 million funding plan with little opposition. Miami voters approved SkyRise Miami, a 1,000-foot observation tower in downtown Miami, in August, and county commissioners rejected funding back in November

Commissioner Audrey Edmonson switched her vote from a “no” in November to a “yes” yesterday. “Who am I to turn around and say the voters didn’t know what they were voting for?” she told the Miami Herald.
