A landmark Art Deco hotel in Miami Beach will reopen this summer as The Hall.
Formerly the Haddon Hall hotel, the Commune Hotels & Resorts property and adjacent apartment building will become a 126-room hotel, according to a news release.
The building was designed by famed architect L. Murray Dixon, and will operate under the Joie de Vivre brand, featuring a courtyard with an indoor/outdoor restaurant, beer garden, library, bar and swimming pool.
Haddon Hall, located at 1500 Collins Avenue, was built in 1940. The building and neighboring Campton apartments were bought by Rockwood Capital in July 2013.
Miami-based architectural firm ADD Inc. and interior design firm Robert McKinley Creative Services were brought in to renovate the properties, according to the release. — William J. Gorta
