Three months after a house fire destroyed a Palm Beach mansion, it was sold for $6.5 million.
Its former owners, Allan and Margaret Scherer, sold the 10,000-square-foot home to a Delaware-based company on Jan. 28.
Allan Scherer is a former executive director of the U.S. Polo Association and the former vice president of the Palm Beach Polo & Country Club.
The estate, located at 417 Primavera Way, was built in 1963 and has five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the fire department estimated damages estimated at $2 million. Neighbors and nearby residences heard explosions from the home, which burned for hours before the flames died out, the Palm Beach Daily News reported. — Sean Stewart-Muniz
