Athina Onassis Roussel, the only surviving descendant of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, bought two vacant plots of land in Wellington, and she’s reportedly buying a spec home for $2 million on the site.
Onassis, the sole heir of Aristotle’s daughter Christina Onassis, spent $1.25 million on the two vacant lots surrounding the spec home at 3173 Blue Cypress Lane in Palm Beach, according to Palm Beach County records.
“She and her husband wanted a little extra privacy,” a source close to Onassis reportedly told GossipExtra.
Onassis also spent $12 million in cash in 2014 for 5.6 acres in Grand Prix Village, which is near the Winter Equestrian Festival’s show grounds. Equestrian festival owner Mark Bellissimo was the seller in the 2014 purchase, according to Palm Beach property records.
The 5,000-square-foot spec home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two half-baths, according to the listing. The seller, Blue Cypress Development, bought the 7,840-square-foot site in September 2013 for $395,000, records show. Previous sales information was not available for the adjacent lots, which were sold by Palm Beach Polo Holdings. [GossipExtra] — Katherine Kallergis
