Atlas Capital Group has received approval for its proposed residential tower 1900 Biscayne, two months after submitting plans to Miami-Dade County.
The New York-based developer was given FAA approval to build the 36-story tower, which is being designed by Kobi Karp, a publication reported.
The tower will include 429 units, of which 27 would be studios, 248 one-bedroom apartments, 149 two-bedroom units and five penthouses.
Plans also include a 620-space garage and 13,000-square-feet of retail space, the Next Miami reported.
Atlas purchased the property — a collection of nine adjoined parcels — for $13.6 million last year. A 10,600-square-foot office building currently sits on 1900 Biscayne Boulevard. Smaller office buildings and vacant lots make up the rest of the property.
City National Bank granted Atlas $7.6 million in loans for the purchase last year. [The Next Miami] — Sean Stewart-Muniz
