From the New York website: The judge who oversaw Robert Durst’s Texas murder case says she believes he pulled off a mobster-style move that sounds like a “Godfather” parody — leaving a severed cat head on her doorstep.

Judge Criss said that this body part was “perfectly clean and preserved” — the job clearly having been executed by someone who knew what they were doing. Criss, who appears in the HBO series “The Jinx,” found that cat head on her stoop after Durst was acquitted in a trial for the murder of his neighbor, who he admitted to dismembering.

When asked on Inside Edition who she thought was responsible for the cat head, Criss replied, “I strongly believe it was Robert Durst.”

In more bad news for Durst, it appears that he could face serious prison time for non-murder-related charges in New Orleans. When he was arrested there last weekend for the murder of Susan Berman, he was in possession of a .38 revolver and 5 ounces of marijuana, according to the Los Angeles Times.

For a first-time offender, illegally carrying a weapon in the presence of a controlled substance could result in up to 10 years in prison. Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, and possession by a person with a felony record could result in a life sentence.
