Luxury boat slips, or “dockominiums,” are coming to Fort Lauderdale.
Alabama-based homebuilder Battle Plan Capital is developing the covered 26-unit marina for superyachts, with prices ranging from $1.8 million to $3 million, according to the development’s website.
Harbour Twenty-Six can accommodate boats ranging in size from 120 feet by 35 feet to 170 feet by 40 feet. Amenities include a clubhouse, swimming pool, security, two-car garages and storage for each unit.
Battle Plan bought the nearly six-acre site for $6 million.
“Covered spaces for megayachts are coveted because they’re few and far between in South Florida,” marine consultant Jim Bronstien told the Sun Sentinel.
Sales will total about $50 million, and construction will reportedly break ground this summer.
Nathan Cox launched sales at the Miami International Boat Show in February and has five reservations for the slips so far, each with a $25,000 deposit, he told the newspaper.
In Miami, a developer has proposed an all-in-one marina on the Miami River. SeaVault would have 14 private, covered slips — each with its own three-level captain and crew quarters — and access to a pool, clubhouse, tennis court, cold storage and private parking. [Sun Sentinel] — Katherine Kallergis
