Miami Everglades campgrounds sell for nearly $10M

A 34-acre campsite in southwest Miami-Dade sold for $9.84 million, according to Miami-Dade County records.

Miami Everglades Resort, at 20675 Southwest 162nd Avenue, sold to MHC Miami Everglades, a Chicago-based company tied to Equity LifeStyle Properties.

Equity LifeStyle has a controlling interest in more than 370 communities and resorts in 32 states and British Columbia with nearly 140,000 sites, according to its website.

The Miami property includes cabins, a main store and swimming pool. It was developed in 1970, according to Miami-Dade property records.

Miami Everglades Campground was the seller. The Friendswood, Texas-based company lists Bruce A. Bryant on its corporate records. The LLC paid an unknown amount for the site in January 2009. Before that, it sold for $2.5 million in November 2000.
