Developers, city and county officials, and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of the midrise Courtside Family Apartments in Overtown recently.
Along with Housing Trust Group, Alonzo Mourning is developing the $22.8 million, 84-unit project, the first phase of a three-phase affordable housing development in the historic neighborhood.
Developers scored $21 million in financing for the project in April. The apartments include 10 one-bedroom, one-bath units; 53 two-bedroom, two-bath units; 21 three-bedroom, two-bath units; and four work-loft units. Amenities for the first phase will include a computer lab, library, gym, basketball court and playground. — Katherine Kallergis and Sean Stewart-Muniz
