Jugofresh to open South Pointe pop-up restaurant

Local brand has expanded to Coral Gables and North Miami Beach this year

Jugofresh is opening a pop-up restaurant in its South Pointe location: jugofresh r + d kitchen.

The local juice, smoothie and vegan foods brand, will open the 2,000-square-foot space in Miami Beach as a restaurant on Aug. 1, according to a press release.

The South Pointe store will remain open Monday through Friday, and the restaurant will serve dinner Thursday through Saturday, as well as brunch on the weekends. It opened in early 2014 and includes a glass-encased commissary kitchen. Guests will be able to watch the kitchen at a six-seat marble bar. R + d, at 40 South Pointe Drive, will feature 30 seats, including indoor, outdoor and bar seating.

Executive chef Darren Laszlo’s plant-based menu will include vegan charcuterie boards, superfood sweets, cold-pressed juice drinks, sake cocktails and wine.

Jugofresh has seven locations in South Florida: North Miami Beach, Sunset Harbour, South Pointe, Wynwood, South Miami, Coral Gables and  inside the Whole Foods in downtown Miami. — Katherine Kallergis
