An Acqualina penthouse in Sunny Isles Beach was just listed for rent at $60,000 a month, The Real Deal has learned.
So, what does that get you?
The furnished penthouse is a 46th floor residence with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. It shares the floor with only one other unit, and has a variety of designer-built features that were put in when the owners purchased it in 2010.
Listing agent Inna Mendelyuk, who also owns the condo, calls its style “comfortable modern” — the finishes are sleek, but homey. There are large couches, custom-built furniture throughout and and a variety of warmly colored walls to contrast the white marble floors.
Many of the unit’s windows are floor-to-ceiling and impact resistant, and the home’s balcony even houses a heated salt-water pool overlooking the ocean.
Its more futuristic features include Miele and Wolf appliances, plus a Crestron smart home system that automates the home’s lights, thermostat, window shades and everything in between.
“It’s made to be lived in,” Mendelyuk told TRD. “There’s unobstructed light coming through every room.”
The monthly rate includes furnishings. Mendelyuk said the unit is turnkey, which is ironic, because the doors actually use a keyless digital entry system.
And there’s an optional BMW 7-series that can be thrown in for lessees who didn’t bring a car with them to South Florida.
Mendelyuk said the price is not exorbitant, especially when compared to other rentals in South Florida.
“At the St. Regis Bal Harbour, there are three-bedroom apartments with no terrace or pool asking $40,000 or $50,000, and they’re getting it,” she said.
Mendelyuk is listing the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom condo with her partner Ryan Mendel at Maxwelle Realty. The two put the unit on the market Monday.
Acqualina is a 52-story condo tower that was built in 2006 by the Trump Group (no relation to Donald Trump). It is the first tower to be delivered in a series of Acqualina-branded condo projects, which now includes Mansions at Acqualina and Estates at Acqualina.
Prices for Acqualina, during the downturn, started at $389 per square foot, Michael Goldstein, the Trump Group’s president of sales said. Today, those units are reselling at prices of $1,445 per square foot, he said.
