The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking a developer to build a mixed-use project next to a Tri-Rail commuter train station in Hollywood.

FDOT has issued a request for proposals to develop the 18.8-acre site next to the Sheridan Street Tri-Rail Station in Hollywood.

The state agency  issued a requested proposals for two parcels totaling 18.8 acres where a developer could build a 150-room hotel and up to 550 residential units in a mid-rise building, 300,000 square feet of commercial space and 245,000 square feet of office space.

The 18.8-acre site is a park-and-ride lot that FDOT wants to lease to a private developer. The development would retain at least 809 commuter parking spaces and other transportation facilities.

Tri-Rail service is available from West Palm Beach to Miami International Airport. The authority that runs the commuter train service is seeking funding to extend service to downtown Miami.
