A joint venture between Coconut Grove-based Aztec Group and Concord Hospitality Enterprises opened its Hyatt Place Miami Airport East hotel on Thursday.
The 135-key property, near the Miami International Airport, includes 800 square feet of flexible meeting space, a pool, a 24-hour gym, cocktail and coffee bar, and a 24-hour limited menu, according to a press release.
Boaz Ashbel of the Aztec Group said the area surrounding the airport lacks new hotel options. Amenities offered include a 24-hour shuttle service and free Wi-Fi. An LLC tied to Aztec paid $2 million for the 48,000-square-foot lot, at 3549 Le Jeune Road in Miami Springs, in 2012, according to Miami-Dade County property records.
Hyatt Place has more then 230 locations worldwide, including in Chile, India and the United Arab Emirates. The select-service brand targets leisure and business travelers, according to the press release.
